We are Wesley Seminary. Our mission is to prepare Christian leaders to engage in missional ministry locally and globally.
Wesley Seminary is committed to serving Christian leaders called by God to do kingdom work, whether they serve in the local church, in a parachurch organization, or in any other way. Our program allows students to remain in their local context, serving within their particular communities, while attaining a graduate-level Christian education that puts them in contact with the issues facing the global church.
Our mission compels us to train Christian leaders who understand that the mission of God is being carried out in the world. For that reason, we are committed to the flourishing of individuals, local churches and entire communities around the globe.
While serving minority communities and Christians from the Global South, it became evident that many Christian leaders leading the global church were bi-vocational or multi-vocational. For them, faith and work are deeply integrated into their daily praxis for the sake of ministry sustainability.
Aware of the economic disparity around the world, we have developed an educational model to consider local economies, personal finances, and particular ministry contexts to offer scholarships that enable more Christian leaders to be a part of Wesley Seminary. That way, we are reducing financial pressures often connected to the rising cost of education.
The initial phase of our model has been implemented among Hispanic Christian leaders. In the last two years alone, we have been able to train more and more leaders – to the point that because of this approach to stewardship, 25% of the total population of our student body are now Spanish speakers.
We are Wesley Seminary, a seminary committed to addressing issues of faith, work and economics for the sake of advancing the mission of God in the world.
