Now is your last chance to get a reduced price for the 2018 Faith at Work Summit, held in Chicago at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare on October 11th-13th. The reduced event registration price of $239 ends on September 15, so be sure to purchase soon!
Fewer than 50 hotel rooms remain in the discounted conference block, and the hotel is already booked up outside those rooms. The discounted event rate on hotel rooms also goes away on September 15, along with the reduced event registration rate.
So if you’ve been putting it off, now is definitely the time to register!
We also have several new opportunities added for summit attendees, along with the rich lineup of speakers, workshops and networking opportunities already announced. See below for what’s new, and what’s tried and true!
The inaugural Faith at Work Summit in 2014 was the brainchild of David Gill, then head of Gordon-Conwell’s Mocker Center. The new head of the center, Ken Barnes, is inviting a limited number of summit attendees to join a free dinner event just before the summit begins. The dinner will be at 5:30pm on Thursday, Oct. 11, and will feature Barnes and Made to Flourish President Tom Nelson. There is no charge for this dinner, but space is strictly limited, so please register right away if you would like to attend.
Before that dinner, there will be an “appetizer.” The Call to Work, a faith and work resource for local churches interested in going beyond the superficial – yet another sermon series or workbook – invites summit attendees to come get a “taste” of The Call to Work. The workshop on this deeper approach to cultivating disciples will be Oct 11 at 2:30-4:30, or you can get a “taste” after the summit on Oct. 13, 4:00-6:00. For more information and to RSVP see here.
Speakers at the Summit include a wide range of marketplace leaders, pastors, and educators, including Brian Fikkert, Mark Greene, Greg Thompson, Sandra Richter, Philip Lorish, Dave Evans, Katherine Leary Alsdorf, John Yoon, David Roberts, David Henry, Helen Kim, Nancy Alderson McDonnell, Missy Wallace, DeLano Sheffield, and many more!
The 2018 Summit will encourage and challenge the faith and work movement with discussions of critical topics, including: grappling with the disruption of work in the new economy, reimagining our work in light of the deep patterns of scripture and what the resources of the movement have to contribute to specific sectors of work. These timely themes will propel the faith and work movement to the next level, furthering its growth and impact.
The summit offers group discounts to those purchasing blocks of five or more tickets. The group rate is only $179 per ticket. Consider bringing a group of peers and saving together!
Trinity Evangelical Divinity School will be offering a for-credit wraparound course for students. Contact us for information on transfering these credits to other institutions. Note that the summit has a special student rate of only $99, to enable students to attend this transformative event. Consider bringing a class, or students with a special interest in faith and work!
The ON has been a leading co-host and sponsor of the summit from the beginning. We’re proud of the large number of ON leaders and partners who have contributed to the summit in the past, and the role the ON has played in connecting theological education to the faith and work movement through the summit. It’s a partnership we look forward to continuing in 2018, as academic-focused workshops and theological voices on center stage increase.
