The Faith at Work Summit is a gathering of over 500 Christian leaders from the marketplace, the church, academy, and faith/work movement organizations who come together to learn from each other and positively impact workplaces around the world. The ON has a history of leadership at the summit, and 2018 will be no different! Register now to get early bird prices before they go up.

This year’s summit is hosted by the Center for Transformational Churches at Trinity International University. Plenary themes will include reimagining our work in light of scriptural testimony, grappling with the disruption of work in the modern world, and identifying resources the faith at work movement has to contribute to specific industries. Breakout sessions will provide a platform for conversations between workplace practitioners, church leaders and scholars across various disciplines – theology, business, economics and more.

For the first time, this year’s summit includes a call for papers, allowing those in disciplines throughout the academy to present their scholarship and practices focused on Christian faith and work. Papers appropriate for the Summit could include:

  • Empirical studies focused on the intersection of Christian faith and work
  • Literature reviews or theoretical models focused on a particular aspect of faith and work
  • Descriptions of curricular efforts to integrate faith and work in the Christian university or seminary context
  • Analyses of current topics in the literature of a discipline, such as management, from a Christian theological perspective

Guidelines for Submissions

We invite scholars to submit their contributions in the form of an extended abstract (max length 1,000 words) by May 1, 2018. All online submissions must be in PDF format, but without any author-identifying information, as submissions will be blind reviewed. Those submitting papers will be asked to enter names, institutional affiliation, and email contact for each author separately from the paper submission itself. Submission can be uploaded at the Call for Papers page on the summit website. To avoid technical problems, early submission is strongly encouraged.

Decisions on acceptance of papers will be made by June 1, 2018.

Final papers will be due by October 1, 2018. Papers presented at the summit will be available on the summit website.

Questions can be sent to Denise Daniels, professor of management at Seattle Pacific University, at ddaniels@spu.edu.
