We and our schools are under more pressure than ever. Sometimes it feels like it’s no longer possible for an academic institution to be a true learning community. And it also feels like it’s no longer possible for each of us to do all that is demanded of us, as our job responsibilities grow seemingly without limit!
We’re partnering with Dallas Theological Seminary to gather our community on January 7-9 in Dallas for a faculty retreat on how seminaries can build community. And, of course, to rest and reconnect with one another.
Discounted hotel rooms are available for a limited time! We’ve secured the DTS discount rate at the Element Dallas Downtown East, which is just a block from the seminary. Rooms are currently available at under $150, which is a great deal in downtown Dallas.
However, the rate is only good while availability lasts, so please get your room today! Take two minutes now and register for the retreat. As soon as you register, we’ll email you a super-secret link (shhhh!) that you can use to secure your room.
We’re pulling together a “dream team” of leaders to help us think together about individual and community sustainability in the theological education:
- Kelly Kapic of Covenant College on learning how to respect the limits God created us to work within
- Donald Guthrie of TEDS and Nelson Morales of SETECA (Guatemala) on how community is formed and sustained in theological schools
- Darrell Bock, Jennifer Woodruff Tait and others on how seminaries that build community can be part of the solution to political and cultural polarization
There will be no fee to attend the retreat. If you cover your travel, we’ll provide the meals and all the rest – including, especially, the rest.
We’ll be meeting from dinner on Wednesday, January 7 until lunch on Friday, January 9.
Dinner on Wednesday and Thursday as well as lunch on Thursday and Friday will be provided.
Take two minutes now and register for the retreat. As soon as you register, we’ll email you a link you can use to secure your room at the discounted DTS rate.
We look forward to seeing you there!
