We’re excited to announce a new opportunity for theological educators who are struggling in a world of work that no longer makes sense the way it used to. How do we renew our vision in hope, and develop a sense of calling, to travel a road that is so different from the one we envisioned when we first set out?

This spring, the De Pree Center of Fuller Theological Seminary is piloting a research-based cohort workshop for vocational formation. It’s called Go the Distance.

Karam Fellowship is partnering with De Pree to offer our members the full Go the Distance vocational workshop experience at a steep, steep discount. If you’re a member of the Fellowship, we encourage you to check out this great opportunity. And if you aren’t, well, this is one more reason to find out more and join the Fellowship today!

Meryl Herr will lead our cohort, so if you were with us at Karam Forum, you already know you’re getting a leader with outstanding gifts for this work!

This experience will renew and inspire you in your vocation, and equip you to enter the next season of your professional life with focus, and in greater alignment with God’s gifting and intention for your work.

The cohort will meet on Tuesdays for six weeks, Feb. 7 to March 14, at 1-3pm central time (2-4 eastern/11-1 Pacific).

The experience focuses on Christian hope, and equips leaders to run the race that God has for them. Over the course of six weeks, you will pay attention to how you SHOW UP to the race. You’’ll VISUALIZE THE GOAL, WARM UP, CHECK THE TRAIL CONDITIONS, and MAKE A TRAINING PLAN. With the encouragement of your cohort members and guide, you’ll GET GOING on some action steps that will help you make progress toward a shalom-shaped future.

What’s in It for You?

  • Once per week for six weeks, you’ll join your cohort for a two-hour session via Zoom.
  • Each session provides time and space for you to process the homework from the week before. In the sessions, we focus on listening to God, listening to one another, and listening to ourselves.
  • Each session includes guided exercises, large group and small group discussion, individual reflection time, Scripture engagement, spiritual practices, and homework to facilitate the work you need to do in this cohort.
  • Companions are crucial to any journey. Go the Distance groups are intentionally small (8 participants maximum).

De Pree’s regular price for this professional service is $500, but for Fellowship members only it will cost just $150.

The Fellowship and De Pree are covering the rest of the cost, because we’re that sure this will be a life-giving experience for you, our members. We are grateful to De Pree for their contribution, vocational and financial, in making this valuable experience accessible to our community!

We can only offer this opportunity to the first eight people who sign up, so don’t delay.

Slots are first-come, first-served.

To reserve your seat for this unique vocational journey, head to the Go the Distance website and Register for Cohort 2. It’s labeled as the “Karam Fellowship cohort,” so you can’t miss it!

And, of course, if you’re not a member of the Fellowship and would like to join the cohort, you will also need to find out more and join the Fellowship!

To learn more, check out the Go the Distance website. If you have questions, you can reach out to De Pree via their website, or reach out to us any time.

Let’s go the distance together!
