Today we officially launch our new peer-reviewed journal, Faith & Flourishing, with the publication of an essay laying out our editorial vision. “Why We’re Here: Theology for the Life of the World,” signed by the members of F&F’s Founding Editorial Board, lays out our case for the approach to theology we are pursuing, and for the creation of a new journal to pursue it.

And since we’re launching our journal, what better time to roll out a way to save money on getting it? Subscription to F&F is one of the membership benefits of joining Karam Fellowship. As we launch F&F, we’re also launching a new way to join the Fellowship and receive the journal. Sign up for an annual membership – or switch your existing membership to annual status – and get a 10% discount. See below for details on this offer.

There’s never been a better time to support our work! We rely solely on you to fuel our mission.

“Why We’re Here” – Our Editorial Vision

We always knew that a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to theology for the life of the world would be a centerpiece of the new work we’re doing in Karam Fellowship. We’ve worked for a year to bring that dream to life. Today’s launch is something all of us in the Fellowship can be proud of.

Forgive us for the splashy headline above, promising a “new” vision for theology. Of course it’s not “new new.” It’s a fresh expression of a core concern that runs throughout the theological knowledge tradition as far back as we can trace it. But the job of theology needs to be renewed and recontextualized in every age –  and our age, with its rapid and far-reaching social change, is most definitely not an exception.

In fact, our vision essay points to the longstanding concern for flourishing in the theological tradition as one reason a journal of theology for the life of the world is so needed:

We therefore see the recent growth of scholarly interest in flourishing as much more than a passing intellectual fad or academic trend; more than the shoring up of a weak spot in the theological knowledge tradition as it has been handed down to us; more even than a critically important opportunity for theological knowledge to inform the practical life of the church in bold new ways. We see in this growing interest the potential for academic theology and theological schools to rediscover their purpose and cultivate their own flourishing in the context of the advanced modern world.

We are founding Faith & Flourishing to help transform that potential into actuality. We are here because contributing to the life of the world is why theology is here, and why theological schools are here.

Annual Memberships Now Available – Save 10%!

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a full year since we first launched Karam Fellowship. We took this new step because, after a decade of helping build the future of theological education, our community was ready to take full ownership of the mission. We rely solely on your support to carry out the work of the Oikonomia Network, F&F, Karam Forum and everything else we do. We couldn’t do it without you!

One thing we’ve been looking forward to, along with launching F&F, is offering annual memberships. We know that paying once a year is a lot more convenient for many of you. But our service provider, Patreon, doesn’t allow creators to just start charging annually the moment we begin. You have to prove that you have a stable base of supporters, and that you will serve them well. We’ve proven both to their satisfaction, so they’ve unlocked annual memberships for us.

We’re thrilled about it! To celebrate, we’re offering a 10% discount on the cost of belonging to the Fellowship for anyone who chooses an annual membership.

If you’re already a member, just log in to your Patreon account. In the menu on the right side of the screen, click on “Manage Memberships” to bring up your Karam Fellowship account and switch to annual payments. You’ll begin saving immediately. We’re grateful for your support!

And if you’re not yet a member, there’s never been a better time to join the Fellowship. Click below to find out more and join today!
