FLOW Grows

FLOW Grows

August 6, 2014 by Oikonomia Network

Demand for the Acton Institute’s new church curriculum, “For the Life of the World” (FLOW), continues to grow. Several more seminaries have made plans to use FLOW with students and faculty since our report in the May newsletter. Meanwhile, sales have significantly outpaced expectations, and FLOW is reaching people through a variety of unexpected platforms.

Acton has partnered with international Christian film distributor Flannel to arrange licenses for prominent television networks in the U.K. and Australia to broadcast FLOW. Flannel is also offering a 72-hour online rental of FLOW episodes, and is thus far the largest seller of FLOW on DVD/Blu-ray. FLOW can also be viewed through Yekra, the world’s only movie-industry authorized provider of streaming on-demand movies. As a result, FLOW will be one of 20 films that will be initially offered for streaming through the most prominent online Christian booksellers. A new Roku channel will allow people to download and watch FLOW on their televisions. The Gospel Coalition has been featuring FLOW in a series of front-page articles appearing multiple times each week.

Acton is also creating a new version of FLOW in the form of a single, full-length feature film. Clocking in at a run time of 2:05, it will be available later in August in DVD format. The film will be available as part of the FLOW Exile Supply Pack, a church kit that equips leaders to engage their congregations and local communities.
