The Oikonomia Network has created a new “affiliate partner” status for individual faculty who share our mission and are at schools that are not ON partner schools.

Our inaugural affiliate partners are:

  • Paul Anderson, George Fox University
  • Dean Blevins, Nazarene Theological Seminary
  • David Buschart, Denver Seminary
  • Mark Dalbey, Covenant Theological Seminary
  • Dieumeme Noelliste, Denver Seminary
  • Don Payne, Denver Seminary
  • John Taylor, Gateway Seminary
  • Brent Waters, Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary
  • Joe Wooddell, Criswell College

Affiliate partners are evangelical theological educators who demonstrate commitment to the mission of the Oikonomia Network, which is expressed in our six outcome goals, through a combination of:

  • Working toward the six ON outcome goals in and through their schools (e.g., curricular integration, extracurricular activities)
  • Working toward the six ON outcome goals in and through their work as scholars (e.g., research, writing, speaking)
  • Working toward the six ON outcome goals in and through local churches, parachurch organizations, or other contexts
  • Working toward the six ON outcome goals directly with or through the ON itself (working groups, newsletter, etc.)

Affiliate partners do not need to be working in all four of these ways; these are just four categories for thinking about where demonstrated commitment can occur.

Affiliate partners enjoy the following benefits:

  • Preferred access to Karam Forum
  • Invitations (subject to space limits) to annual ON faculty retreat
  • Validation of their missional and educational commitment to whole-life discipleship, fruitful work and economic wisdom
  • Free resources such as:
    • EWP and other hard-copy resources (including more to come!)
    • License to access the Theology of Work Project’s faith and work Bible commentary in Logos software

Affiliate partner status is granted for a term of two years and can be renewed if the following conditions are met:

  • At least once per year the faculty member has attended an ON event (faculty retreat, Karam Forum, etc.) or an event with official ON presence (Faith & Work Summit, ETS/AAR, Acton University, etc.)
  • The faculty member submits a brief portfolio showing their demonstrated commitment in promoting the ON outcome goals (e.g. activities in some combination of the four arenas described above)

Faculty are invited to become affiliate partners through a relational process of mutual discernment involving substantial engagement in the ON community. Feel free to contact us with questions.
