The Oikonomia Network is stepping out into the spotlight! At the upcoming Faith@Work Summit, probably the largest and most important gathering in the modern history of the faith and work movement, ON schools and partners are making significant contributions. We’ve come a long way in a short time.

The summit will take place on Oct. 24-25 in Boston; registration will be $145 until September 8 and $175 thereafter. See here for more details and registration information. The purpose of the summit is to gather active movement leaders and participants to assess achievements, needs, obstacles, opportunities, and resources and to develop an agenda for individuals in the workplace, the marketplace, in churches, ministries, seminaries and Bible schools, universities, and business schools.

It is co-sponsored by the Mockler Center at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in partnership with the ON. The other leading sponsors are the Center for Faith and Work at LeTourneau University and the Center for Integrity in Business at Seattle Pacific University – also an ON school! Eleven other co-sponsors include the Acton Institute, the Patheos Faith and Work Channel (to which the ON is a contributing partner), the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University (yet another ON school), and the Theology of Work Project.

Conference speakers include Scott Rae, Tom Nelson, Greg Forster, and four other speakers affiliated with the ON and its partner schools. Other speakers include David Miller, Bill Pollard, Will Messenger, and Katherine Leary Alsdorf.

Who would have believed that after just a few years, our network would be in a position to contribute to the national movement at such a level? It’s a testament to the entrepreneurial virtues of our faculty leaders and schools. We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for us and the faith and work movement in the years ahead.
